Location
Travelling distanceRegardless of whether you arrive by bus, private car, taxi, train or bicycle,
you will have few problems accessing the Telenor Centre. If you come from either
the E18 or the Ring 3 highway, Fornebu is well signposted for visitors arriving
by car. If you choose to travel by bicycle, there are good cycle lanes from the
centre of Oslo and from Asker and Bærum further west. A separate taxi stand
serves the Centre. If you travel by bus, Lysaker, an important junction for
both eastbound and westbound trains, is only 5 minutes away. If you choose
public transportation, express buses are running between central Oslo/Lysaker
and Fornebu, where Telenor has its own bus stop. Here are a few examples
of travelling times if you choose to travel to Fornebu by bus: Lysaker - 5
minutes, Skøyen/Sjølyst - 9 minutes, Majorstuen - 15 minutes, Jernbanetorget
- 22 minutes, Sandvika 15 minutes. Local train connection As
the development of Fornebu progresses, the need for a well-functioning public
transport solution increases. Akershus County Municipality, and the Municipality
of Oslo have agreed that a local train connection will provide a long-term and
environmentally friendly transport solution for Fornebu. Such a solution is included
in the National Transport Plan for 2006-2015. Even though the solution has yet
to receive the final approval, it is likely that a driverless train will be built
in the future. This will give Fornebu a flexible and efficient transport system.
